The Barong and Kris dance is one of the Bali’s most iconic dance dramas, on par with the Legong and Kecak. Those with a keen interest in arts and culture will appreciate the performances the most, with daily shows scheduled at various stages throughout Bali’s main tourism areas – the most popular being at Batubulan in Gianyar, and the Denpasar suburbs.

Batuan Village is famous for its artwork and style of painting which originated in the village in the 1930s and has since emerged into a major Balinese artistic style, known as a Batuan painting.
It is a major painting centre and contains a number of art galleries and cooperative art societies which have played a key role in promoting the art of Batuan. The village is also known for its performance of the ancient Gambuh dance, performed every Full Moon day.
Tegallalang Rice Terraces
Tegallalang Rice Terraces are located only 20 minutes north of Ubud. The area is one of Bali’s most famous tourist attractions for it beautiful rice terraces.
If you want one of Bali’s best tourist photos, then this is the spot. Offering dramatic views and vistas, the rice terraces sprawl down and away on the slopes and across the valley. For a small fee, a farmer who is also a local elder and land owner invites visitors to purchase woven hat handmade by himself as well as sample his green coconut drink.
Uluwatu Temple
Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of Bali’s kayangan jagat (directional temples) and guards Bali from evil spirits from the SW, in which dwell major deities, in Uluwatu’s case; Bhatara Rudra, God of the elements and of cosmic force majeures. Bali’s most spectacular temples located high on a cliff top at the edge of a plateau 250 feet above the waves of the Indian Ocean. Uluwatu lies at the southernmost of Bali in Badung regency. Dedicated to the spirits of the sea, the famous Pura Luhur Uluwatu temple is an architectural wonder in black coral rock, beautifully designed with spectacular views.
Kecak Fire Dance
If you are visiting Bali, don’t miss the experience of seeing the Kecak Fire Dance. The dance is iconic to Bali and the show features local performers singing, dancing and performing with gamelan instruments.
